Rural IT Quiz
The Rural IT Quiz is one of the Flagship Programmes conducted by the Department of IT, BT and S&T, Govt. of Karnataka in partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) since the year 2000, as part of the Event. The Quiz has earned an entry in the Limca Book of Records as the first IT Quiz for Rural Students in India.
For a decade now, the Programme has helped enhance IT awareness amongst Students at the grassroots level, keeping them abreast of the latest developments in the world of Information Technology. The Programme is conducted for Students from Standard 8 - 12.
Since 2010, the Programme has moved beyond Karnataka and today has a national footprint covering the States of MP, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Jharkhand & Rajasthan to help Students in smaller towns and districts of these States understand technology better - as technology today is an enabler in diverse fields such as Engineering, Medicine, Law, Sports, Science, Movie, Music, Government, Automobile and Telecommunication.
In the same vein, the Programme teaches Students the value of teamwork, mental agility, out-of-the-box thinking and builds confidence levels among the youth as they grow into citizens who will steer the nation to greater heights in the years ahead.
